- Risk Level
Breath play encompasses any activity restricting airflow or oxygen to create altered states or heightened sensation. Forms include hand choking, ligature restriction, suffocation with objects, face covering, and compression methods affecting breathing. Risk level is extremely high regardless of experience, precautions taken, or frequency of past safe practice - death can occur suddenly even in experienced practitioners. This practice cannot be made completely safe - even partial restriction carries serious risk of injury or death through mechanisms that cannot be fully controlled.
